Billie M. Thompson, Ph.D. – CEO

Billie ThompsonWorking in sound listening training field since 1986, Dr. Thompson is widely considered to be one of the world’s foremost experts and an international leader in the field. Her training with French physician Dr. Alfred A. Tomatis (1920 – 2001), founder of the field of sound listening training, and subsequent practice with thousands of clients has made her among the most experienced professionals and researchers in the industry.

Dr. Thompson founded and directed five Sound Listening & Learning Centers and provided outreach programs in 30 cities making Listening Programs available to over 6,000 families (1986 - 2003). She was the founding President of the International Association of Registered Certified Tomatis Consultants (2001-2004) and editor of the first Ricochet Journal of Tomatis Method Research. Dr. Thompson organized and was the first exclusive Tomatis trainer in the US in 1991. She edited the English translations of two of his books, The Conscious Ear and The Ear and Language.

Dr. Thompson holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University and is certified in several modalities including Rubenfeld Synergy® Method, NLP™, and Structure of Intellect. She completed a number of postgraduate method certifications in the areas of leadership, psychology, educational systems, and professional writing. She has thirty-five years experience as a teacher, manager and business consultant. She is a past President of the Arizona Association for Gifted and Talented and provides a range of evaluations, programs, and referrals for those whose abilities range from gifted and average to those with special needs. Her experience includes providing sound listening training to over 2,000 children on the autistic spectrum and to an additional 5,000 children and adults whose competencies range from optimum through foundational.

Kirk D. Thompson, Ph.D., P.E. – Vice President

Kirk ThompsonWith over 40 years of experience in military, educational, and industrial hardware and software design, development, implementation, and integration, Dr. Thompson is uniquely suited to the technological research and development tasks required to produce the EnListen software systems technology.

Dr. Thompson has developed numerous radar, medical software simulation, manufacturing test, data acquisition, and data management applications for PC, mini and mainframe computer users. Clients include Motorola, General Electric, TRW Safety Systems, Keithley Instruments, Honeywell, Schlumberger Technologies, MTS Systems Corporation, Texas Instruments, Sensor Technologies & Systems, and others. He is the creator of the GUS (Gas Uptake Simulation) software simulation used by Puritan Bennett and Anaquest for training physicians in anesthesia delivery. In addition, Dr. Thompson was a Post Doctoral Fellow at the Arizona Heart Institute and has served on several engineering standards boards. His MSEE is from MIT and his Ph.D. from Arizona State University.
